Qualifications:   

         

High School diploma. Experience working with students in a school setting with academic, behavioral and/or emotional challenges, learning or developmental disabilities or autism preferred. Must be able and willing to physically restrain and/or

lift students.

 

Reports to:     Program director/coordinator or designee

 

Work Year School Year: (183 days includes 3 professional days)

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-to-one support throughout the school day
  2. Work directly with Hull Public School staff
  3. Help facilitate the student’s daily schedule and transition
  4. Support the student in general education classrooms and enrichment activities
  5. Encourage independence, social engagement, and academic success
  6. Consistently & accurately implement individual student programs base on the IEP, behavioral support plan and healthcare plan under the direction of the classroom teach or other professional staff
  7. Collect data as indicated related to student IEP, behavior etc.
  8. Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to ensure a positive and supportive learning experience
  9. Work with other students in the program as appropriate when one-to-one support is not needed
  10. Use de-escalation, protective measures, and physical management techniques (including lifting and moving) as prescribed in SSEC approved physical management training programs when appropriate with students.
  11. Report any student or staff related concerns or critical information immediately to the classroom teacher and when appropriate directly to the Program Director/Coordinator.
  12. Consistent work attendance which includes; arriving to work on time each day, working the entire day and notifying the program director/coordinator a minimum of 24 hours in advance for a personal day whenever possible.
  13. Follow all policies and procedures as established by the South Shore Educational Collaborative.
  14. Participate in all required in-service training
  15. Maintain confidentiality regarding information for all SSEC staff, students and their families.
  16. Perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the program director/coordinator.

 

Mandatory participation in all of the following SSEC sponsored trainings to include but not limited to:

 

  1. Successful completion of SSEC approved restraint trainings. Full and/or recertification annually as appropriate.
  2. Maintain active CPR/First Aid certification.
  3. Successful completion of all SSEC approved threat assessment training.
  4. Successful completion of required training hours for 7D licensure if requested by the program director/coordinator.
